News for the Georgia Carolina Council
Scouters and scouts, each event in our council typically has a Doubleknot page that is the authoritative place for that event. So, you need to find that page to get leader's guides, registration info, etc. These are often posted in the News (here), but are always linked to the events on the Council Calendar. On the Calendar, click on the event, click on More Info, and then go to the Doubleknot page for that event.

-- Boy Scouts of America’s Georgia-Carolina Council today announced a $2,000 gift from Kinder Morgan, Inc. to support and expand scouting in Burke County for boys ages 7 to 18. This donation will fund scholarships for underprivileged boys to attend summer camp and events at Robert E. Knox Scout Reservation, a 485-acre outdoor retreat on Thurmond Lake used to host many of the Council’s events for Cub and Boy Scouts.
“The Boy Scouts provide outdoor adventure and community service opportunities to young men, who in turn develop strong life skills and moral values,” said Allen Fore, vice president of public affairs for Kinder Morgan. “Kinder Morgan is pleased to be able to contribute to the next generation of leaders.”
Burke County, which boasts nearly 60 Eagle Scouts, has a rich history of Scouting. Many serve as prominent community leaders.
“Since our founding in 1922, the Georgia-Carolina Council has grown to serve 16 counties in the greater Augusta area with more than 168 scouting units and 6,200 registered youth members,” said Wesley Brown, district executive, Boy Scouts of America’s Georgia-Carolina Council. “We are grateful to have a corporate sponsor that is committed to our community and the development of tomorrow’s leaders.”
